What are your deadlines for receipt of proposals?
Proposals are considered semi-annually. Deadline for submission are June 30
and December 30.
2. Does the Foundation make grants to individuals or private foundations?
No, the Foundation does not make grants to individuals or organizations classified as a private foundation. The Foundation only makes grants to organizations as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

What is the average size and duration of grants awarded?
Grants are awarded semi-annually and are one-time cash awards of varying amounts,
generally less than $25,000.00.
4. How
many grants do you award each year?
In 2007, EBK awarded 20 one-time grants.
5. What
are the chances that my proposal will receive support?
The Foundation receives a large number of applications each year and funds those
that support the goals and objectives of its patron, Esther B. Kahn, and will
make a significant difference with lasting tangible results.

you have formal application forms?
Yes, the Foundation has implemented a two-stage application process to review
proposals. Please review "Application Instructions" for additional
details.

How long does it take for a proposal to be approved?
The Trustees meet semi-annually, generally in February and August. All applicants
will be notified of the Trustee's decision within 10 business days after the
meeting.

There is a two-stage application process to review proposals; a preliminary
